Islington Council has agreed to a set of conditions under which the much loved nightclub can reopen its doors.

It’s official: beleaguered nightclub Fabric is set to reopen, following an agreement between Islington Council and the Met police.

According to a series of tweets by Islington Tribune reporter Koos Couvée, the deal is based on new licensing conditions set out in a 155-page document submitted by the club last week. Those conditions reportedly include a restriction on clubbers under 19-years-old on main nights, CCTV monitoring, ID scanners, and a lifetime ban for anyone caught attempting to purchase drugs.

The much loved venue had, of course, been closed since September, when its license was revoked following the death of an 18-year-old clubber. Today, Judge Robin McPhee was quoted as saying: “I’m satisfied that the council and Fabric pulled together to get a set of workable conditions to prevent drug use and supply future.”

A date is yet to be announced for the reopening.
