London Fashion Week is mainly about fashion but also about parties. So we threw a party that was also about fashion. Specifically, our new documentary on Fashion East. For the past few months, i-D’s been following the ups, downs, late nights and Walkers crisp breakfasts of Lulu Kennedy and her team, as they work tirelessly to bring the vision of London’s new gen designers to life. Starting from pep talks to students and culminating in this season’s show, the film is an insight into the unbridled creativity pumping through London’s veins.
I know what you’re thinking — the Fashion East show was only a few of days ago! How did they turn it around so quickly! What kind of sorcery is this! Shout out to i-D’s relentless video team for their numerous Haribo-fuelled late nights to get this done in time for the party. Because what a party it was.
Blow up shots of Cardi B, Binx Walton and Adut Akech adorned the walls of an overflowing room at the ICA. We had Charles Jeffrey and BBZ on the decks. An all star guest list included past and present Fashion East-ers Charlotte Knowles, Charles Jeffrey, Claire Barrow, A Sai Ta, Supriya Lele, Liam Hodges and Ryan Lo. We had (a lot) of drinks courtesy of Bering Ice vodka, mixers from Peter Spanton, Old Blue Last Beer HEAVENSAKE sake (it’s the new tequila). Most importantly, we had a really good time.
Don’t worry if you couldn’t join us in person — just grab some sake and settle down to watch the trailer for our new documentary. We think it’s brilliant. We hope you do too.
