The Fashion Space Gallery at London College of Fashion have announced a blockbuster exhibition opening in the new year, titled Mad About The Boy. Curated by Lou Stoppard, the exhibition will “explore fashion’s obsession with youth, focusing on the way ideas of the teenage boy are constructed through collections and fashion images”.

“The fluidity and possibility of the teenage years seems to unite fashion’s obsession with the boy: sparked, perhaps by a strange belief in the precious genius of youth — of a time of perceived infinite opportunity, spontaneity and creative freedom,” Stoppard says.

Kicking off on the first day of London Collection: Men on Friday 8 January 2016, the exhibition opens in spectacular style with a restaging of the spring/summer 13 menswear presentation by the iconic — loved and lost, but never forgotten — London label Meadham Kirchhoff.

The exhibition is “inspired by the success of designers who have always been drawn to youth culture,” and will include work by an absolute dream line-up of designers and fashion creatives: Raf Simons, J W Anderson, Gosha Rubchinskiy, Nick Knight, Larry Clark, Kim Jones, Judy Blame, Jason Evans, Tyrone Lebon, Nasir Mazhar, Martine Rose, Christopher Shannon, Undercover, Patrick Robyn and, of course, Edward Meadham and Benjamin Kirchhoff.

Mad About The Boy is free and opens to the public at the Fashion Space Gallery at London College of Fashion 8 January — 2 April 2016.
