School might not be in session IRL this year thanks to Miss Rona, but that doesn’t mean you can’t stay learning online and take a break from Netflix binges and endless TikTok scrolling. May we humbly suggest, for example, perusing i-D’s Summer School, a series of free online courses all aimed at helping young creatives better understand the industry.

The latest installment in the series is all about fashion filmmaking, and features expert advice from videographer and filmmaker Stephen Isaac-Wilson. As a filmmaker, Stephen has worked with the likes of i-D, Tate and Vogue, along with creating music videos for some of the music industry’s top artists. But you might be surprised to hear that his career path has been an unconventional one — he studied Politics at university, and only came to find his passion for fashion and filmmaking afterwards.

In his semester of i-D’s Summer School, Stephen teams up with Contributing Editor Hazel Ong to discuss his journey and reveal invaluable insights on accessing the notoriously guarded world of fashion filmmaking. Check out the full video below, where you can find out about submitting your own video work for i-D too…
