florence and the machine end london’s apple music festival on a high

With scheduling that included what may or may not be one of 1D’s last shows, a night that doubled as Disclosure’s album launch, not to mention Selena Gomez and Bella Hadid in the crowd for The Weeknd's performance, this year’s iTunes Festival…

Following a week of class acts, Florence Welch celebrated both the final night of 2015’s Apple Music Festival and her father’s birthday with a flawless performance at London’s Roundhouse. Dedicating Cosmic Love to him accompanied by a harpist, the audience proceeded to sing happy birthday to the man who tirelessly drove his daughter around Europe when she couldn’t afford her first tour. This intimate, friendly setting is exactly what makes the festival so special; a brilliant celebration of popular music and a usually long-gone opportunity to see your favourite artists up close and personal.

Having kicked off with Ellie Goulding on 19th and spanning artists including Take That, The Weeknd, The Chemical Brothers, and Pharrell Williams, the free music festival continues to give fans what they want. Transmitting from the Camden venue for the week, Apple’s new Beats 1 radio station was on hand to interview artists backstage, with Niall of One Direction telling Julie Adenuga, “this is one of our favourite venues in the world so it’s great to be here.” Disclosure celebrated their new album release with their headline show on 25th, bringing out Caracal features Lion Babe, Nao and Kwabs as guests. In conversation with Beats 1 anchor Zane Lowe, the duo claimed to be addicted to doing radio following their show on the station this summer. As Apple Music continues its reign, long may the festival play

All performances are available to watch on demand on Apple Music and on Apple TV.
