There’s an extendedremix, and then there’s a Four Tet feature-length remix. Kieran Hebden grabbed Oneohtrix Point Never’s sprawling, explosive Sticky Drama and stretched it into a near hour-long flip. It’s being billed as an extended remix, but let’s be honest, this is something else.
That being said, this isn’t the first sprawling remix we’ve ever seen. Lil Wayne’s 2008 track 10,000 Bars runs for a strong 31 minutes, and The Game’s released a couple of scathing 15-minute songs over the past few years. Even the original take of The Sugarhill Gang’s Rapper’s Delight ran well over 10 minutes.
While an hour long track might be a different story, we couldn’t think of many hands more capable than Four Tet’s. The remixed track is finished now, but you won’t be able to hear it until tomorrow when premiere over a global live stream. While you’re waiting, revisit Oneohtrix Point Never’s original, incredible visuals, produced with artist Jon Rafman.
