Black Friday has never really meant much to us, but when Frank Ocean starts releasing surprise merchandise and his Boys Don’t Cry magazine (that we queued outside a corner shop for the other month only to find they’d all gone) is up for grabs, well that changes things.
Appearing on boysdontcry.co this morning, the monochromatic ‘100% off blonde’ T-shirt has already sold out, but there are still a lot of potential early Christmas presents to yourself that you never knew you wanted. For example; there’s a pack of three Blonde hand-shaped car air fresheners ($15) just crying out to be used in your shiny yellow E30 M3, a really nice looking 2 disc Blonde LP ($35), and several matte black posters of Frank as well as a NOT FOR RESALE poster, that literally says NOT FOR RESALE. With the Frank pin-ups all sitting at $25, it’s a rather steep jump up to $80 for Issue 1 of the coveted Boys Don’t Cry magazine that features words by Kanye, and shoots from the likes of Wolfgang Tillmans, Harley Weir and Tyrone Lebon. Perhaps try to see it as an investment? Perhaps ignore the sage advice given by that poster we mentioned before?
