Legendary street-art pioneer, drum & bass icon and i-D cover star circa 1996, Goldie has been a little quiet on the new music front recently. It’s not that he’s been taking a break – quite the opposite in fact – he’s been busy collaborating and touring with the Heritage Orchestra with a reimagined version of his groundbreaking 1995 debut album, Timeless. “The world wasn’t ready for this to be played like this… and now it’s ready,” he has said of the 20th anniversary project. “Some things need to be left alone for a very long time.” Having revisited the very beginning of his career before releasing the brilliant Broken Man featuring the incredible Kwabs, out now on Metalheadz, we ask Goldie to guide us through his life in music.
