It’s no surprise that Game of Thrones received the most Emmy award nominations in yesterday’s announcement of the 67th annual TV awards, seeing as it is the most magical, heartbreaking and shocking fantasy epic on the telly. It bagged 24 nominations including Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding supporting actor for Peter Dinklage aka Tyrion Lannister, Outstanding supporting actress for Lena Headley aka Cersei Lannister and Emilia Clarke aka Daenerys Targaryen/Khaleesi/Mother of Dragons. GoT is up against our next favourite show, Netflix’s all girl prison drama Orange is the New Black, in the Outstanding drama series and Outstanding supporting actress categories, for Uzo Aduba, aka Crazy Eyes.
American Horror Story: Freak Show is pulling up a close second with 19 nominations, and neck and neck in third place are Mad Men, House of Cards and Transparent with 11 nominations each.

The 67th Emmy awards will take place on 20th September.
