From girls dancing on the tube in Ealing Broadway to the Stratford mall roller-skate scene, Roundel has traversed the web of the London Underground to film the youth cultures developing across all 32 boroughs of The Big Smoke. Featuring the trio taking the piss out of society’s ideals with their band name Skinny Girl Diet, Novelist and The Square (“you’ve heard of a friend circle right? Well, we’re a square; strong on all sides,”) and the kids from South, East, North and West making, skating, kissing and dreaming, Cieron Magat’s film Get Lost is a documentary-music-video hybrid that pulls together the city’s young people from the routes they all take – physically and metaphorically. And as a motto almost all of us are familiar with, the film tells us; “Work all day to dance all night.” Why? “Cos money makes the world go round.”
