Avant garde fashion punk Bernhard Willhelm has revealed his 69 piece spring/summer 16 collection, for men, women and everyone in between, outside, under or over.
2 CUTE 2 B STR8 : CARAMELIZED BANANA WITH TOFFEE SAUCE is a collection of digitally printed, painted, embroidered and tie dyed raw-edged Japanese cotton and denim separates for every gender, taking in wide-strap summer tops, open-shoulder coats, asymmetric tunics, tracksuits, maxi dresses and slogan T-shirts, as well as zig-zag knit skirts, tabards, hoodies and pants.
Blending shapes from the middle ages with Afrofuturist vibes, the collection revels in Willhelm’s taste for the absurd. T-shirts are printed with slogans including, “You look like a drug addict but in a good way,” “Will work for *banana graphic*,” and “Position of the day,” and looks are topped with crown-like hat sculptures assembled from chicken wire, wood, bananas and colorful wrapped-thread by artist Duane Paul.
