On the back of an extraordinarily well deserved Best Picture win for Lady Bird at the Golden Globes (and a highly unfair snub for a Best Director nomination), Greta Gerwig has spoken about working with Woody Allen in 2012 for the film To Rome with Love.

In an interview with the New York Times, Greta said of Woody’s sexual harassment allegations, “I can only speak for myself and what I’ve come to is this: If I had known then what I know now, I would not have acted in the film.” She continues, “I have not worked for him again, and I will not work for him again. Dylan Farrow’s two different pieces made me realize that I increased another woman’s pain, and I was heartbroken by that realization.”

Dylan Farrow, the adopted daughter of Allen and Mia Farrow — who’s long been vocal about her allegations of sexual abuse by Allen as well as Hollywood’s choice to turn a blind eye — responded to Greta’s statement with gratitude, tweeting:

Despite this, Farrow still has reservations about the #TimesUp movement. She has said that while she fully supports “women taking a stand, linking arms with other women (and men), advocating on behalf of one another to effect change not only in the entertainment industry but in the world at large,” she takes issue with “the people who join this movement without taking any kind of personal accountability for the ways in which their own words and decisions have helped to perpetuate the culture they are fighting against, that’s hard for me to reconcile.”
