Kardashian-West baby name betting pools have officially closed, people. And if you put your money on any variation of cardinal direction (I was pulling for Easton), K-name, or Instagram filter (seriously, it’s a thing now), looks like it’s ramen tonight. This afternoon, Kimye revealed the name of their second child: Saint.
Kim made the announcement on Twitter just half an hour ago, and delivered it in the most popular language of 2015: emoji. Presently, journalists across the world are cooking up their best Yeezus headline puns, while Saint West Filmworks — a video production studio based in San Diego — is probably getting the most website traffic of its entire eight years of existence.

Saints have been baby name inspo for roughly forever, although typically it’s the latter half of these titles (Matthew, Mark, Luke, Hildegard, etc.) that make for the most popular monikers. “Saint makes a lot of sense for a son of the artist whose 2013 album was titled Yeezus and contained a song called ‘I am a God.’ Yet baby boy West is not the only secular saint in the celebrisphere,” writes Nameberry expert Linda Rosenkrantz. “Rocker Pete Wentz called his second son (the first was Bronx Mowgli) Saint Laszlo last year, and Selma Blair used it as her son Arthur’s middle name in 2011.”
Rozenkrantz suggests Saint might be included in a newly trending baby name category that consists of virtue-based names for boys, “such as Noble and Justice.” Fellow hip-hop heavyweights turned parents have taken more regal approaches to naming their children, too; Lil’ Kim’s daughter, Royal Reign, shares the latter half of her name with Kourtney Kardashian’s son, Reign Aston Disick. Either way, Anna Wintour better make room on her lap at Yeezy Season 3 — there’s a new lil’ blessing to swaddle in utilitarian beige.
