At the end of a big year, we asked people how they’re working for a brighter 2017.

What do you do?
I’m studying music and sound production at uni.

What are you wearing?
My mother’s Chinese robe, silk slip from Cos and pants from Savers Brunswick.

How would you describe your style?
Morticia Addams meets 1980s Shanghai.

There has been a lot of global political turmoil this year, as an Australian do you feel impacted?
American politics matter, and the result of the election, will undeniably impact everyone in the future. However, Australia currently has innumerable issues of its own, which are of greater relevance to its citizens, and should be reflected upon, analysed and addressed first. Things like asylum seeking, Aboriginal rights and the systematic oppression of marginalised groups. I feel like people can be really apathetic regarding the problems closest to home, it’s so easy to point a finger at someone else and say “but like.. we’re not as bad as them!”

What changes are you making in 2017?
Stop eating Cheetos. Cutting out mayonnaise.

How would you sum up 2016?
A year of… realising things.

If you could pick anyone in the world to be the president, who would it be?
Rihanna in the Bitch Better Have My Money music video.
