One Direction bandmates Harry Styles and Liam Payne, as well as Uptown Funk DJ Mark Ronson, have signed up to be ambassadors for Trekstock, a cancer charity set up to support young people diagnosed with cancer, throughout their illness and beyond.
There are 11,000 young adults diagnosed with cancer in the UK every year, but many have found that the support available is tailored to much older people. With the launch of THRIVE, a new online platform designed specifically for young adults, Trekstock are hoping to change that. THRIVE is described as part app, part forum, a network and a wiki, but the way it has been designed will allow it to morph and become something entirely new, depending on how the site’s visitors choose to use it.
1D’s Liam has supported the charity for 2 years and with bandmate Harry is urging fans to hold fundraising events and donate to the charity, with the additional incentive that one donor will win the chance to meet the band before watching them at a London tour date.
