Hazel Ong’s year in photos

Backstage at i-D shoots, on the beach in Mexico and catching a bubble during Caribana… this is Hazel Ong's 2019 in photos.

We asked a handful of our favourite photographers and contributors to look back at 2019 and remember it through the photographs they took. From i-D contributions to personal pictures of friends, family and strangers on the street, this is Hazel Ong: My Year in Photos.

Toronto-based stylist and i-D contributing editor Hazel Ong is outfitting some of the biggest musicians on the planet right now. After assisting i-D’s legendary Fashion Director Simon Foxton, she went on to help style Drake on his Boy Meets World tour. Elsewhere she has contributed her work to publications like Billboard, The Fader and Complex and collaborated with brands such Nike, Prada and Stone Island.

The Toronto Raptors won their first championship in the franchise’s history this year. I witnessed the madness of this historic moment on TV from the comfort of my friend’s living room. Such a proud moment for my city.
