It was a big ol’ night for music last night as the UK Music Video Awards celebrated the best musical talent of the year, focussing on styling, cinematography, choreography and more.
Childish Gambino was the night’s big winner, taking away the award for video of the year for his internet breaking This Is America, as well as best urban video international and best cinematography. Jorja Smith, King Krule, Flohio, Father John Misty, Badbadnotgood and Idles also had a successful night, with Jorja picking up an award for best urban video UK for Blue Lights, directed by i-D family photographer Olivia Rose. i-D also got in on the action too — collaborating with the UK MVA’s for their best styling in a video category, where the gong last night went to Years and Years’ If You’re Over Me.
Held at London’s legendary roundhouse, the UK MVAs are a chance to recognise extraordinary creativity both at home and abroad. Check out the full list of winners below:
