If you didn’t manage to score an invite to the Fashion Awards last night don’t feel too bad, just read this and memorise everyone who managed to scoop an award and you can convince everyone you know that you were there anyway. Simple.
4,000 guests descended on the Royal Albert Hall last night to celebrate the people, models, designers, brands and businesses whose imagination and creativity has broken ground in the fashion world over the last 12 months.
Hosted by Jack Whitehall and Karlie Kloss, the Fashion Awards in partnership with Swarovski was a typically star studded affair, with Adwoa Aboah, Anja Rubik, Christopher Bailey, Kaia Gerber, Raf Simons, Winnie Harlow and Pat McGrath gracing the red carpet.
14 awards were announced over the course of the night — including a posthumous award for the late Azzedine Alaia, with Naomi Campbell leading the celebration of his incredible 60-year career. Jonathan Anderson managed to pick up two awards, one for his work at Loewe and another for his namesake brand J.W.Anderson, whilst two-time i-D cover star Adwoa Aboah picked up Model of the Year. The other big awards went to Craig Green, for British Menswear Designer of the Year, with Charles Jeffrey and Michael Halpern picking up awards as emerging designers in menswear and womenswear respectively. There was a surprise award for Outstanding Contribution to British Fashion to Burberry’s Christopher Bailey. Each recipient received a Swarovski crystal trophy, commissioned by architectural designer John Pawson.
