Last night saw the third (but hopefully not final) extravaganza i-D has thrown with Jeremy Scott, and to be honest we’re struggling to keep our head off our keyboards here at i-D HQ. But hey, while we weren’t allowed the day off to recover in sausage sandwich bliss as we need to (rude), we’ll at least revel in the night by reliving it all here (amazing).
Good news! You can too. Because the Instastories are up and the official snaps are in, and they’re full of enough party goodness to keep you going ’till New Years, probably.
It was a night of warm fuzzies, thanks to the Jeremy Scott x UGG collection we were celebrating, the expansive number of Ciroc cocktails we downed, and the number of hot boys and girls frolicking around in their Thursday best. Not to mention the esteemed presence of Neneh Cherry, who’d swapped her standard buffalo stance for one behind the DJ decks, spinning a night of nineties bliss — a nod to Jeremy’s 20 years in the business of fashion. It didn’t stop there — i-D favourites Rina Sawayama, Charles Jeffrey, Jodie Harsh and Hutch all took their turn to keep the crowd on their UGG adorned toes.
Like all the best collaborations, the one between Jeremy and UGG came about thanks to some mutual fangirling. “There’s that personal connection for me, as I’ve been an undercover UGG wearer for years,” Scott explains. “I love the brand, and in my own daily life and my own quotidienne self, I wear them a lot.” His genuine adoration of the brand shows in the shoe. If you boiled Scott down to a pair (or eight) of cosy booties, it would be these. They are warm and friendly and approachable. Bright and bedazzled. There’s flame embroidery on one pair and the slogan ‘UGG Life’ emblazoned across another.
The campaign was, unsurprisingly, shot in his hometown of LA — a place as fiery and glam as the man himself. “I think of myself as a farmer here, and I’m planting my seeds and harvesting my vegetables. Take them to the market and sharing them with the world! And then I go back to my farm and I go back to planting the seeds and start again,” says Scott. Lensed by Marcus Man, the hot shots show Jeremy, Lil Yachty, and “Golden Barbie” Jasmine Sanders lounging against cars we almost want as much as the boots.
To do the collaboration the justice it deserves, we put everything into the party that Jeremy put into the shoes. Taking place at Cafe de Paris (the sensational scene of our first Jeremy x i-D get together) the nineties themed bash was as lit as the flame emblazoned UGGs, as glitzy as the bejewelled ones, and as VIP filled as the campaign. Really. Notable names present included — deep breath now — EVE(!), Jasmine Sanders AKA the Golden Barbie, Thomas Cohen, Louie Banks, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Lottie Moss, Mabel, Fran Burns, Princess Julia, Sussi, Charles Jeffrey, Harry Evans, Neneh Cherry, Rina Sawayama, Charlotte Free, Tiger Lily Hutchence Geldof, Gary Card, Anna Trevelyan, and Ibrahim Kamara. Phewf.
