Having dropped their hotly-anticipated, and well-received, debut album Leave Me Alone a month ago on 8 January, Spanish all-girl garage band Hinds kick off an almost completely sold out UK tour in Cambridge tonight, and reveal a self-directed new video for album track Bamboo.
Showing band members Ana Perrote, Carlotta Cosials, Ade Martin and Amber Grimbergen in their bedrooms, the studio, rolling about on the pavement, giving each other piggy backs and dancing on desks, the home footage-style film is as raw and real as their lyrics. “I want you to call me by my name when I’m lying on your bed,” Cosials sings in a woozy drawl reminiscent of Ryan Sambol of The Strange Boys.
Bamboo is out on 8 March, with the UK tour taking in Norwich, Nottingham, London, Manchester, Glasgow, Leeds, Birmingham, Bristol and Brighton before the band head out around Europe, then America and Australia, before heading back to the UK for summer festivals.
