    i-D June Mixtape 2015

With Glastonbury a distant memory, it's time to get our hazy heads back into gear and reflect on another month of tunes that tickled our tastebuds.

This month’s mixtape kicks off with fresh fire from Goldlink alongside brand new material from young Londoner Tau Benah (who dropped his debut with i-D!) Slither on down the selection and we come to music from young producer of the moment Tom Misch, Greco Romans’ Bullion, Karma Kid’s new soulful side project Shy Luv plus hefty house from Special Request aka Paul Woolford.

Young Thug gets the deep remix treatment from SoundCloud discovery Misogi, Kidnap Kid returns with one of the finest rolling anthemic house tracks we’ve heard for a long time, while Foals treat us to some more of their raw power with What Went Down. Chet Faker, SOHN and Thundercat also served up sonic delights that sit alongside fine summer sounds from Nao and Ninja Tune’s Seven Davis Jnr before things get grimy with the legend that is Wiley and i-D favourite, Little Simz.

Liverpudlian producer Melé hit us with his festival banger Ambience as well as heat from legendary Drum & Bass producer D.Bridge’s Be So Cruel, released under his Velvit alias. Wind through new house and garage cuts from Preditah, My Nu Leng, Dusky and Soul Clap and you’ll find yourself at the finish line with a deep warped take on Björk from Berlin based producer Lotic.

The mixtape artwork comes from LA-based artist Justin Lewis, whose unique style we can’t get enough of. His catalogue of work ranges from illustration to photography for hip-hop/R&B stars and models alike. See more of his work here.
