by:Larm is the SXSW of Scandinavia, Norway’s answer to The Great Escape and one of our all-time favourite city festivals. Taking over Oslo between 28 February – 2 March, the festival boasts a line-up including Slowthai, Flohio, Object Blue, and quite frankly, more Scandi acts than we know what to do with.
Getting us more excited still, is the fact that for the second year running, i-D will be setting up camp at riverside venue Blaa to host a night of performances from local artists as well as those from further afield.
Oslo-based singer and painter popstar Lil Halima will open proceedings, followed by Otha, whose work has previously been described as “club music for introverts” and “what Robyn would sound like on downers”. Sold. She’ll be handing over to Berlin-based experimental techno producer Pan Daijing. Expect intense forward-thinking performance art and you won’t be disappointed.
Next up will be lo-fi singer-songwriter Otta, hopping over from the UK for the show, as well as mysterious interdisciplinary Norwegian collective, Tacobitch. Fun! Copenhagen cool kid Erika de Casier and her self-produced 90s G-funk-meets-R&B will take the festival baton and run with it, before handing it over to producer du jour FAKETHAIS. Full of extremes and contrasts, his melodic industrial electronica will have you dancing all night. Listen to the rough and restless mix he made us a couple of weeks back to get in the mood.
Be there or be square.
