This week we step into an i-DJ from an iconic mainstay of London’s underground house and techno scene. Enzo Siragusa‘s FUSE night began at Brick Lane’s infamous 93 Feet East and moved to Village Underground where it cultivated one hell of a following. Now running parties at Space, Ibiza the deep rolling tech sound that FUSE has come synonymous with has inspired a new wave of producers and DJs, further cementing it as somewhat of an institution within the clubbing world.
Warming up for the weekend in the only way we know how, Enzo steps into the mix for this weeks i-DJ with 62 minutes of deep rolling delights. Press play and up the levels. This one’s fire!
What are the top three tracks getting heavy rotation in your sets?
Archie Hamilton, Don Pepo, Seb Zito, Bedlam Holla on Kerri Chandler’s new Kaoz Theory label and my new track called Desire which is on the mix around 47 minutes in.
What’s the most hedonistic party you’ve ever been to?
Amnesia closings in 2002 it was completely mental, random naked people dancing in the crowd, trannys giving out free cocktails that got you completely smashed, but apparently contained a bit of their semen. You had to take the rough with the smooth for a free drink!
What’s the most phenomenal clubbing venue in the world and why?
Berghain. Its unique ‘anything goes’ vibe, the atmosphere in Panorama Bar and the sound downstairs in Berghain, ridiculous – a truly phenomenal club.
If you could go back to back with any DJ, at any venue, who would it be and why?
Francios K at the Paradise Garage. I used to love the music on his label Wave Records and the whole Body & Soul thing. He also made one of my all time favourite tracks Hypnodellic. I’ve always wondered what it would be like to play the Paradise Garage on that famous sound system. The club is like a legendary myth, would love to have experienced it.
History is made at night… What was the best night of your life?
Dreamscape at the Sanctuary in Milton Keynes 1994, my first rave.
What’s the most debauched thing you’ve ever seen on the dance floor?
At Manumission I remember seeing a girl lying on top of stack of speakers in the main room, empty a full bottle of champagne inside herself and proceed to squirt it out all over the crowd. Then some guy was catching it in a champagne glass and drinking it.
What would your dream rider consist of?
A private jet for me and my mates, tequila and a long list of stuff I don’t want my mum to read.
What does your actual rider consist of?
Water, beer and 3 black towels. Had to take the tequila off as I like it far too much.
What’s your favourite party anthem of all time?
Frankie Knuckles, Your Love, classic.
What producer are you predicting big things from this year?
Seb Zito. I think getting signed to Kerri’s label is just the beginning. He’s an amazing talent and no doubt more and more people will start to hear how good his music is.
Where do you go when the record ends and the lights come on?
I go to the gym in the hotel to stretch and do some meditative yoga. Not really. I typically always end up cracking on, although since the tequila came off the rider this year I have been a bit more sensible.
Finish the sentence, the music sounds better with…
…a good sound system!
