When Jay Z tweeted on Tuesday to announce that his artist-owned music streaming service Tidal had reached a milestone 1 million subscribers, he included a cryptic invitation to celebrate, “10/20 Brooklyn”.
“Nothing real can be threatened, nothing unreal exists” Tidal is platinum. 1,000,000 people and counting. Let’s celebrate 10/20 Brooklyn.

All has now been revealed, as Tidal have announced a one-day festival on 20 October at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, featuring a stellar line up of the service’s artist-owner roster: Jay Z, Beyoncé, Prince, Nicki Minaj, Usher, Lil Wayne, T.I, Damian Marley, Indochine and the promise of loads more.

Tickets will cost between $24 and $74, with all proceeds going to charity. Described by Tidal on Twitter as, “A TRIBUTE TO FANS & A CALL TO ACTION,” that charity may well have something to do with the #BlackLivesMatter movement, to which Jay Z and Beyoncé are rumoured to have given significant personal funding, and was the benefactor of the Prince concert, Rally 4 Peace, live streamed by Tidal back in May.
