Attention kids: rock’n’roll icon Joan Jett (played by Kristen Stewart in The Runaways biopic) has some very important advice for you. Not that you need it. Jett told Billboard, “If I could go back and give my 15-year-old self some advice, I’d say to document what you go through. The Runaways have few photos or videos. I don’t think teenagers think that far ahead. I didn’t think about the future or ‘When will I retire?’ I still haven’t thought about that.”
Really? While we all wish Instagram had been around when The Runaways were on the road (hello intimate shots of Cherie Currie and late night love-ins with the rest of the gang), encouraging a selfie-obsessed generation to document their lives even more, is like telling the Pope to go to church. They already got it in the bag. Props to Joan, though, on her official induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
