Tate's Radical Thinkers panel discussion to take on 40 years of feminist art.

Share

Over 40 years ago feminist thinkers challenged the representation of women in art, as well as their role as workers within a patriarchal culture. Fast-forward to today, and where is the sexual equality promised by the women’s liberation and second wave feminist movements of the 20th century? Focusing on classic feminist texts from Michele Barrett, Mary McIntosh, Sheila Rowbotham, Juliet Mitchell and Lynne Segal, and with speakers including the legendary Griselda Pollock, Radical Thinkers: the art, sex and politics of feminism is a panel discussion that will be addressing the legacy of feminist art and theory, and its enduring relevance to contemporary struggles. Chaired by artist Sonia Boyce and organised by Radical Thinkers, the debate takes place tonight at Tate Modern’s Starr Auditorium. Join the debate.
