Kanye West is really serious about you paying for music. Hey, he’s an artist who literally bankrupted himself in his quest to bring the people sick tunes. Surely it’s the least you could do to shell out a couple of bucks for his genius, right? Well, that very specifically applies to “his” genius, or at least the genius of artists on Tidal—the creator-focused streaming service he and several other musicians are trying to make happen harder than “Fetch”. But apparently, Kanye thinks everyone else can fight their own battles.
Yesterday the artist Tweeted a screenshot of him checking out Stefan Stevens’ track Death With Dignity off the album Carrie and Lowell on YouTube, when someone noticed he has a Pirate Bay tab open on a search for Serum, a VST (basically, a virtual synth).

In case you’re my mum reading this, Pirate Bay is a torrenting site that allows you to share and access magnet links to download content for free. It’s mostly used to download music, movies and software without paying for it. Technically it’s a bit of a lame move, but it’s popular with people who haven’t made paying for media a personal crusade. And Kanye West.
Now we know Kanye’s money troubles have been on his mind, okay and on ours, but Serum sells for $US189.00. Surely Kim could lend him the cash.

Kanye absolutely rinsed Deadmau5 in a series of Tweets (addressing him as “dead mow five”) eventually asking him to perform at his daughter’s birthday party.
