The Paris Opera ballet, under the charge of choreographer, former NYC Ballet dancer and Mr Natalie Portman, Benjamin Millepied, has announced that its next season and it could well see the involvement of some of the city’s most famous designers. Millepied told i-D that he hopes they will be collaborating with the company on costumes: “We are still negotiating with Alber Elbaz, Karl Lagerfeld and Raf Simons and I really hope that they will join us.”
Among the other highlights, composer Philipp Glass will be involved and there will scenography by artist John Baldessari. One of the biggest names in choreography, William Forsythe, was invited to work on a new piece together with James Blake and a range of young choreographers will be invited to work with the 154 dancers of world’s most prestigious dance company.
