You may have a full year to wait, but come September 10 next year, you’ll be able to catch A Different History of Fashion, the Kunsthal Rotterdam’s retrospective of photographer Peter Lindbergh, who’s shot for Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, The Face and more since the 70s.
The German photographer’s black and white photography is influenced by “early German cinema, modern dance from the 20s and industrial surroundings” and his shot of Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, Claudia Schiffer and co. in biker hats in Brooklyn for Versace’s autumn/winter 1991 campaign is one of the key photos of the original supermodels. He’s opened up his personal archive to curator Thierry-Maxime Loriot, so expect never-before-seen work, including polaroids, storyboards and films with muses Kate Moss and Mariacarla Boscono.
‘Peter Lindbergh: A Different History of Fashion’ will be on show at Kunsthal Rotterdam from September 10, 2016 to February 12, 2017.
