Katy Perry has shared her thoughts on the controversy caused by this year’s MTV VMA nominations with a tweet that seems to be directed at Taylor Swift. Disappointed that her Anaconda video hasn’t been nominated for the prestigious Video of the Year prize, Nicki Minaj tweeted on Tuesday night: “if your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year.” Taylor presumed that Nicki was referring to her Bad Blood video, which has been nominated for Video of the Year, and tweeted back at the rapper: “I’ve done nothing but love & support you. It’s unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot..”
Now Katy appears to be calling out Taylor for hypocrisy. Though she doesn’t mention the singer by name, a tweet Katy posted last night makes a thinly-veiled reference to Taylor’s Bad Blood video, which sees the singer and her squad take down a female rival played by Selena Gomez. Though Swift has never confirmed it, many pop fans believe the song and video are inspired by Taylor’s long-rumored feud with the Teenage Dream star.
Finding it ironic to parade the pit women against other women argument about as one unmeasurably capitalizes on the take down of a woman…

In her next tweet, Perry gave props to her old pal Rihanna, insisting that her attention-grabbing Bitch Better Have My Money video should have been nominated for Video of the Year. So far, Nicki and Taylor have chosen not to respond to Katy’s tweets, but among fans, the debate rages on.
The real travesty is where is the shine for #BBHMMVideo when VMA eligibility period was 7/7/14-7/1/15 & that gem dropped 7/1… @MTV
