From the Victoria’s Secret and Kim Kardashian commercials to the icon-making half time performance, the Super Bowl is one game that’s not just about who wins. Last nights Super Bowl 2015 saw Katy Perry follow in the footsteps of Prince (2007), Madonna (2012) and Beyoncé (2013) in entertaining the crowds whilst the players cooled off, bringing the heat with flames, beach balls and fireworks for 12 smokin’ hot minutes at the PEPSI Super Bowl XLIX halftime show.
Making her entrance on a giant golden tiger, dancing with sharks and exiting on a firework zooming over the audience, Katy Perry rivalled Jennifer Lawrence’s “Girl on Fire” for her halftime performance. Bringing on Lenny Kravitz to duet I Kissed A Girl with and being Missy Elliott’s hype girl as she brought out old classics Get Ur Freak On, Work It and Lose Control, all in a glittering array of outfits by Jeremy Scott (including a patent, leather mini dress emblazoned with flames, a beach ball inspired bustier and skirt and a crystallised, over-sized football jersey) and a silver lamé, shooting star gown by Moschino, the California girl used her short time wisely and made sure it was a show to remember.
