Even by cosmic celebrity terms, Lady Gaga has had a big few days. She started the week as the centre piece of the Grammys with her lauded (and much discussed) David Bowie tribute and finished things off by walking in the Marc Jacobs fall/winter 2016 show. Following Kendall Jenner on the runway the singer/actress wore an oversized coat with fur sleeves and a soft green pussy bow blouse.
The dramatic look was considerably restrained by Gaga standards, or at least when compared to the the other Marc Jacobs’ pieces she donned this week. The designer created a custom ornate blue gown and white sequin suit for her to wear to the Grammys.
Despite the excitement around her appearance, which was announced shortly before the show, it was reported that she insisted on being treated like the other models. She even showed up on time at 3.30 PM for hair and make up, subjecting herself to the usual period of waiting around all models are familiar with. Although this isn’t totally new territory for the singer: she walked in Thierry Mugler‘s Fall 2011 Paris Fashion Week show and featured in the music video Tom Ford created in place of a traditional show for Spring 2016.

On Marc’s side of things he’s making a habit of including his famous pals in his shows-Beth Ditto walked in his spring 2016 presentation at Ziegfeld Theater. Considering his pals like Winona Ryder, Sophia Coppola and Victoria Beckham frequently pop up in his campaigns it’s no surprise they’d migrate to his catwalk.
No prizes for guessing who Lady Gaga wears to the Oscars.
