It may be back to school for Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis’ 16-year-old daughter, but we’re pretty sure the classroom is the last place on Lily-Rose’s mind. Today, she released the first image of her new film Planetarium, directed by Rebecca Zlotowski. Set in 1930s Paris, the film follows two sisters — played by Depp and Natalie Portman — who are able to communicate with ghosts. And looking at LRD’s Instagram, her resemblance to a young Portman in Leon: The Professional is uncanny.
Although Depp has had parts alongside her dad in Tusk and Yoga Hosers (premiering at Sundance in two weeks), Planetarium looks set to be her most major film yet. “I just know this is what I want to do and I want to work hard at it, and hopefully keep finding roles as beautiful as the ones I’ve already been lucky enough to come across,” Depp told LOVE magazine, in one of the very few — and always short — interviews she’s done so far. An official release date for Planetarium is yet to be confirmed, but rumors are it could be out as soon as May this year. Hold onto your hats, Lily-Rose Depp fans!
