Chanel has announced that Lily-Rose Depp is the face of the new fragrance Chanel No.5 L’eau, created by perfumer Olivier Polge. The preternaturally beautiful progeny of long-time Chanel muse Vanessa Paradis and Johnny Depp also celebrated the news by posting a shot of herself kissing a huge bottle of the remixed classic on Instagram.
In a statement, Chanel has praised Lily-Rose, saying she “embodies her generation and its values of freedom and boldness to perfection, bringing to the iconic fragrance of the House her youthful freshness and beauty.”
The full campaign is expected in the fall, and Chanel has hinted that there will be a campaign film, directed by Johan Renck — the man behind Bowie’s “Blackstar” and “Lazarus” music videos.
Having been announced as the face of Chanel’s Pearl Eyewear collection in 2015, and killed the Met Ball red carpet in Chanel haute couture, Lily-Rose is already well established as an ambassador for the maison at the age of just 16.
