The title track from Tinashe’s hotly anticipated sophomore studio album, Joyride has leaked. Travis Scott features on the song — but word is, it’s not going to make Tinashe’s album anymore. Screenshots of a conversation between the singer and a fan over Twitter DM have been circulating the web, suggesting the song was passed on to Rihanna after Tinashe and Travis recorded it, hence the leak. Apparently, Tinashe’s parts were stripped out, but Travis’ were left in.
Tinashe’s faced a slew of disappointing leaks this year, delaying the release of Joyride. In March six songs hit the web — Same Old Me, Pour Your Love On Me, No To Me, Just A Taste, April Moon and Bullet — without the singer’s approval. By now, it’s safe to say she’s more than ready for the album to drop.
In conversation with Rap Up, she explained it’s been done for a while. “The majority of the album was recorded even before 2016. It was mostly recorded in 2015. The heart of the album still remains the same and then I’m still just adding little tidbits, little touches, anything that inspires me throughout this year.” While Joyride won’t make the cut, she assured us that the Young Thug collaboration Party Favors “will definitely be on the album.” Listen to Joyride below.
