Earlier this month, Common shared his eleventh studio album, Black America Again. Today, he’s given us a new version of the title track with fresh verses from Gucci Mane, Pusha T, and BJ The Chicago Kid. The trio — from Atlanta, New York, and Chicago respectively — share their thoughts on the precarious state of America today, following one of history’s most disappointing elections.

In a note on Instagram, Common thanked the artists for “lending their talents and perspectives to #blackamericaagain.” In the song, Gucci raps “It’s so hard to be a black man in a white man’s country.” Pusha responds “All these years later, we still the target/Look at Ferguson, Brooklyn, and Charlotte/Sellin’ CDs, reachin’ for wallets/Trayvon’d be in his last year of college.” Press play to hear trio sound off on America, today.
