If you’re sitting brain-dead at your desk, enduring another weekday commute, or toiling away through your seventh hour straight of studying, we’ve got the perfect mid-day refresher for you. Jamie xx and Floating Points teamed up for a two-hour collaborative DJ set for NTS Radio, and the result is delightfully disco. The original set aired on the NTS radio station last Thursday, and was finally released for streaming today; gifting us with a perfectly mood-boosting dose of dreamy synth-pop.
The two esteemed DJs came together for the set to celebrate the London radio station’s fifth birthday. In its five years, NTS Radio has served as a who’s who of dance music around the world, as well as an online music community for listeners who are just as geeky about dance music as, say, Jamie xx and Floating Points.
Their set features artists including Theo Parrish, Eddie Kendricks, Jewel, Gerry Rafferty, and David Byrne, amongst many others. The mix is a disco throwback underscored by Jamie xx’s quintessential technical prowess we’ve all come to love, and you can groove along to the full set below.
