Luxury leather goods house Loewe has appointed Pascale Lepoivre as its new CEO, WWD reports. The storied house — one of the oldest handbag manufacturers in the word — welcomed Pascale from Céline, where she had worked a number of years under the French house’s CEO Marco Gobbetti. Prior to that, she spent time at Louis Vuitton, so it’s safe to assume Pascale knows leather well. The LVMH Fashion Group has officially confirmed the news, and WWD reports that she began work at Loewe yesterday.
After appointing Jonathan Anderson creative director in 2013, Loewe has enjoyed a creative and financial renaissance. The turnaround echoes the reinvigoration Louis Vuitton enjoyed in the late 90s and early 2000s under the direction of Marc Jacobs. During Anderson’s tenure, the house has launched two perfumes and a number of new bag styles — like the Puzzle, Hammock, and the Barcelona. By the look of things, Loewe is set to enjoy an illustrious 2017.
