It was announced in January, just days after David Bowie left this world, that the arthouse musical he had co-written with Irish playwright Enda Walsh would be coming to London. The stage show, which had a sell-out run off-Broadway in New York, is positioned as a sequel to the 1976 Nicolas Roeg film The Man Who Fell to Earth, in which Bowie stars as a disorientated alien.
The London dates have now been officially announced and tickets are on sale. Lazarus will make its European debut at the King’s Cross Theatre between 25 October 2016 and 22 January 2017.
The show features 20 songs by David Bowie, including reworkings of iconic tracks such as Changes, Heroes and Absolute Beginners, as well as music that ended up on Bowie’s final album Blackstar, released just one week before his passing.
