You know when you were at school and your teacher dared to go on holiday leaving you with a sub-par stand-in? Apple Radio’s Beats 1 London anchor Julie has taken the week off, breaking the rules and instead leaving listeners with the greatest line-up of supply presenters ever. Kicking things off on Monday, Years & Years took a night off from their endless tour schedule to play host, before London Queen Charli XCX stepped things up a level last night with guests including Pussy Riot’s Nadya and a world exclusive play of her new SOPHIE-produced track, Vroom Vroom. During the show, Charli confirmed that her next record (due to feature the new track) will be “really inspired by the PC Music guys,” and that she’d love have Paris Hilton in the music video. Clearly locked in to the show, Paris took to twitter to tell Charli that the idea “sounds amazing!” and that she’d love to be in her video. “#VroomVroom is sick! Such a dope track! Loves it!”
Still to come from the Beats 1 takeover week: Jamie Woon tonight with an exclusive track, Stormzy continuing his rule on Thursday night and Rudimental with a Friday night house party.
