Looks like Instagram is getting rid of feed posts in Stories

    Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes.

Fans of the double post, we have some grave news for you today. Instagram has started testing a limitation on their Stories feature which prevents users from linking to feed posts on the same app. That frog post that’s begging to be broadcast to the world? You’ve got to send it out to everyone manually now. That selfie that you’re trying to drive some extra traffic to? Dead in the water.

Late last week, a number of selected users received a notification of the test, stating that the change was being brought about as a result of community feedback. So, come on then, which one of you complained? I hope it makes you very happy. Dear Lord, what a sad little life Jane.

A statement from Instagram reads: “We’ve seen from research that people prefer to see original photos and videos in Stories from the people they care about. The goal of our test is to better understand how people feel about this type of content and ultimately improve the Stories experience.”

According to Social Media Today, these changes will not affect users’ ability to share IGTV previews in their Stories, and should also allow for tweets to be shared directly through the feature. Since all the good memes start out on Twitter anyway, maybe things will work out alright in the end.
