In her first campaign for Louis Vuitton, French actor Léa Seydoux poses in Nicolas Ghesquière’s futuristic pre-fall offerings against the backdrop of the San Cristobal Stables, the iconic Mexican residence designed by famed modernist architect Luis Barragán. Seydoux’s no stranger to the house, having worn Vuitton to several events and attended the brand’s fall/winter show. She seems to fit the mold of the off kilter Ghesquière muse personified by Charlotte Gainsbourg.

Back in January, when Seydoux was announced as the face of Louis Vuitton with a portrait by i-D photographer Alasdair McLellan, she said of the partnership, “I feel extremely proud at the thought of representing such a strong symbol of French elegance, an iconic brand whose initials are known the world over. I deeply admire Nicolas Ghesquière’s work, especially his newness. His incessant search for novelty is also highly impressive.” Her career is just as impressive: from starring in the incredible Blue Is The Warmest Color, for which she won the Palme D’Or, to the upcoming It’s Only The End Of The World, directed by Xavier Dolan.

Ghesquière’s next move will be the cruise 2016 show at the Nitéroi Contemporary Art Museum in Rio de Janeiro, an even more extreme example of the space age architecture he loves to show in. What’s clear is that his uncompromising, international vision for Louis Vuitton continues.
