When Finding Dory kind of, maybe, featured a same-sex couple, the internet cheered the brief, but appreciated, acknowledgement of queer parents. Now Nickelodeon are doing their part for representation, with the introduction of their first same-sex couple. Harold and Howard appeared on The Loud House as the parents of Clyde, the best friend of main character Lincoln.
The dad’s relationship isn’t presented as anything out of the ordinary, with the majority of their storyline instead focusing on their kids organising a sleepover. Harold and Howard are particularly protective, and send Clyde off with a sleeping bag, pyjamas, white noise machine, humidifier, dehumidifier, bundle of emergency numbers and a framed photo of his parents. Gay or straight, most people probably have similar cringe-worthy memories of their own folks.
first married gay couple on a nickelodeon cartoon, what a time to be alive and gay! https://t.co/KsZRtSM1Wp
