What do you do and why do you do it?
I write lyrics, I sing, I strum. I do it because I love the English language and I love using it to tell a story in a song that no one will ever forget.

Confident, clumsy, driven, musical, talkative. Not so funny.
How did you start your career?
I started a band with my mates.
What was your big break?
It’s yet to come.
What are you working on at the moment?
More and more songs, and my final A-levels.
What advice would you give young people wishing to follow in your footsteps?
Believe in yourself.
We‘re celebrating the 35th Anniversary Issue of i-D, when did you last celebrate and what was the occasion?
I celebrated New Year’s Eve at a Black Butter Records event.
What excites you most about tomorrow?
Gig at the Barfly.

Despite my name, I still can’t roll my Rs.
