    met ball bans selfies

What is Kim K gonna do? And how will we imagine we were there?

The Met Ball is back on Monday, but don’t expect to piece fashion’s most celeb-heavy night together through Instagram accounts, because selfies are officially banned. Kim, Kendall and Riccardo Tisci (all selfie lovers) won’t be able to pose by themselves or with pals. It’s part of a wider selfie stopping trend, with the Cannes Film Festival trying to ban them on the red carpet and festivals Coachella and Lollapalooza both prohibiting selfie sticks. But it may be a one-off at the Met Ball: this year Vogue is filming a behind-the-scenes documentary at the event and wants to ensure exclusivity. It might be back to business next year then, but at this year’s gala — for the launch of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s exhibition China: Through the Looking Glass — you’ll have to rely on those classic red carpet pap shots. But which designer-muse combos will be walking it? We’re most psyched about the rumor that J.W. Anderson is dressing Chloë Sevigny for the night, but we’ll have to wait until Monday, May 4 to see for sure.
