Floor-length florals and turbans and buoyant, light-weight shrouds on Missoni's spring/summer 15 catwalk

    Share

Julia Nobis opened the Missoni show, marching resolutely down the runway in a floor-length floral top, skirt and turban getup that’s best defined as somewhere between Karen Blixen and The African Queen. She looked like she was really enjoying herself, and that was kind of the point. Catch the Wind! the collection was called, and boy did the those buoyant, light-weight shrouds get the job done. Angela Missoni went to town on her relatively simple reference, but a bit of summertime sass was obviously all she needed. When things started getting a little underwater blue and green in the colour department, the collection suddenly went electric, then—bang—back to grey and pretty patterns before a trippy segment of psychedelic 70s red looks closed the show, a knit tied around the side of the model’s torso, should summer temperatures get tricky enough for our carefree lady to catch more than just the wind. Missoni: accomplished.
