True to form, Jeremy Scott’s latest Moschino collection was an entirely literal interpretation of his theme. This season it was girls at a carwash, except he had a slightly different take on the stereotypical girls in bikinis squeezing suds onto themselves while slipping and sliding over soapy windscreens. Instead they were literally dressed as traffic cones, drive-through car-wash brushes, and high-vis lollipop ladies.
The catwalk was set up like a construction site: the runway was a road spangled with signs that read “No Parking, Couture Zone” and “Dangerous Couture Ahead,” and an actual carwash sprayed out bubbles instead of water. It was tongue-in-cheek fun as always but it was also clever. Signs read “SHOP” instead of “STOP”, bags screamed “DO NOT ENTER”, and a trench coat had a warning “OPEN TRENCH” sign on the back of it.
So if you want a ride that’s smoother than a limousine, take it to Moschino Motors, the chicest carwash in town!
