We know Taylor Swift and Kanye West are cool now – they’ve actually become friends, Taylor recently explained, because the rapper has learned to respects her and her accomplishments. But given both artists’ fondness for the grand gesture, shouldn’t they do something super-visible to prove they’ve put all that bad blood behind them?
Well, music fans on Twitter have identified the perfect opportunity for Taylor and Kanye to reconcile publicly and are now campaigning for the Shake It Off singer to present Kanye with his prestigious Video Vanguard trophy at this Sunday’s MTV VMAs. Check out a selection of their tweets below.

The image of Taylor graciously handing over a lifetime achievement prize to Kanye is almost too perfect – their beef began at the same event in 2009, when Kanye stormed the stage as Taylor was accepting her Best Female Video trophy to tell the world that Beyoncé should really have won instead. Neither Taylor nor Kanye has responded to any of these tweets yet, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed that they can be persuaded – after all, this could be closure on a global scale.
