Where are you from?
Cameron: Busselton, WA
Nathan: Perth, Western Australia.
What do you do?
Cameron: Currently a student studying photography and illustrative design to help my surf photography and working casually.
Nathan: I’m currently studying a law/arts degree at the University of Western Australia. I also work part time at a local surf shop for some coin.
What are you wearing from head to toe?
Cameron: both op shop items haha, the shirt is actually my brother’s so I kind of claimed it and the jeans are another score from the freo op shop that I’ve torn up a bit.
Nathan:I’m wearing some really worn Vans that have seen me through many good times (and three months backpacking through Europe). It’s a scorcher in Perth today so I’m wearing some denim jeans I cut after purchasing them at a near-by Salvos store. I’m also sporting an old Harley-Davidson tee with a cool cap I picked up from my grandfather’s house.
What are you listening to on repeat right now?
Cameron: It would have to be Drunk Mums. I’ve heard them on a lot of surf films and my older brother has gotten me right into them.
Nathan: Soda by Violent Soho.
Where would you take us during the day if we came to visit you in your city? And when night falls?
Cameron: I usually spend my whole day either down the beach or close to it.. So I guess a whole day of swimming and surfing down the local beach. When night falls, possibly just go out for a few drinks at a bar or pub. I’m not much of club go-er.
Nathan: During the day I’d take you guys to a couple of different beaches because that’s definitely the best thing about Perth! There isn’t much surf here but there are a lot of nice uncrowded bays to spend your day if you know where to look. At night, there’s some cool bars in the city that are worth a go. Sunday sessions around Cottesloe are the pick though – the perfect place to have a few cold beers with your friends before potentially hitting the dance floor if you’re up for it.
If you could ask the world one question and get the answer, what would you ask?
Cameron: Maybe I would ask the world why they let the “top knot” come into fashion? Haha.
Nathan: Why do bad things happen to good people?
What’s the best thing about being young in 2016?
Cameron: I think the best thing would have to be social media. It has let me share a lot of my photography work really easily and connected me with a heap of cool people and given me a lot of opportunities.
Nathan: The best thing about being young in 2016 is the freedom I’m afforded to travel. Travelling is one of my passions and being young in 2016 means that I have the opportunity to go and explore what the world has to offer. I’ve travelled around Western Australia and throughout a lot of Europe but there are so many more places I want to see and so many more cultures I want to immerse myself in.
