Zayn Malik‘s first solo music since I Won’t Mind, the demo released just days after Malik left One Direction in March, has been revealed, but it may not be the final version. The “remix” of American trap duo Rae Sremmurd’s track No Type sees Zayn sing the original hook, while Mic Righteous raps an amended verse, which references Dot Cotton, the black-and-gold or blue-and-white dress controversy and death in Palestine.
Mic Righteous put the track on his YouTube account and tweeted that it is an “official leak”, but Naughty Boy, who has been working with Malik for months, responded on Twitter to say “that had nothing to do with me or Zayn, something was stolen from the hard drive that had nothing to do with the rapper involved” adding that fans should “just wait for the real one [OK hand emoji] you won’t be disappointed”. Mic responded saying “Lol @NaughtyBoyMusic tell the truth shah. We recorded them bars in ur studio months ago. .. Bout ‘stolen hard drive'”. Zayn hasn’t tweeted anything since tweeting about his hair and the Guardians Of The Galaxy soundtrack last week.

Zayn Malik may have explained his departure from the biggest boyband in the world by saying that he wanted to live as a “normal 22 year old” but with all the recording he is doing with Naughty Boy, and reports earlier this week that he is looking to secure a huge deal with a top fashion brand, it seems certain that we’ll be seeing a lot more of Zayn Malik in the coming months, with rumours circling that he will release a solo record before the year is out.
